Late 1800s undergarments - fin!

So today was sewing undergarments day.

A late 1800s set of crotchless drawers and chemise. Not entirely by the book as I did a bit of guessing while drafting patterns, but here you have it!

Had intended to show it off with the crinoline as well to form an overall impression, but that will be another day.

Have yet to get around to touching anything to do with a corset but will see to have some mock pieces cut out and stitched together to see how it all fit before cutting into the actual fabric I'm going to be using.

Edit:

Because I thought some might want to see some of the progress, not that I shot a whole lot of pictures of that, far too busy sewing! But here they are regardless!

SD sized Elliptical Cage Crinoline - Fin

As promised, here are the pictures of my absolutely amazing miniaturized Elliptical Cage Crinoline. Two days of hard work paid off in the end!

I couldn't at all decide for 2-3 pictures to post out of the eight I shot so I'm feeling generous and are now sharing them all with you!

Next up on my to-do list will be the underwear; drawers, chemise, socks and corset.

Sewing Update!

All forgetting to post updates here, actually gotten the crinoline finished, all I need to do now is take some proper pictures to show it off owo

Yesterday I sat down and began sewing the bag and all of the channel tubing. Took ages sewing, but damn does that look nice!

Even got so far as to getting the first 4 steel wire hoops into the bag, started sewing slots in the vertical tape and finished the waistband (minus buckle).

So, today I went at it again with the vertical tape slots, holy crap there were many, 100+ tiny little ones, measuring just about 1cm across. Even with a sewing machine it took me a couple hours if not more, just for the slots alone.

Having finished all of the slots, at long last, I could attach the vertical tape onto the bag, here I had already started pulling the hoops through the slots.

Every last hoop through the slots, the half hoops measured and tied (was that a hassle, didn't now the exact measurements of these, had to have the doll wear the crinoline while I had pulled some hoop pieces through the slots and measure where about I should make a cut for it to fit) and all missing in that picture was for the buckle and for the tape to be attached to the bag which I had forgot about in the meantime, that was until a needle pricked my finger xD

Going to shoot up some pictures tomorrow, it's too late and I'm too tired now for anything much.

Lets get this horse going again!

I’m stupidly excited about receiving these ribbons in the mail come next week at some point (hopefully)! Navy blue grosgrain ribbon in 3mm and 10mm along with that gorgeous floral patterned cotton ribbon.
Going to be using the 10mm ribbon as taping on the crinoline I’m working on and the 3mm for the drawstring on the chemise I’m going to be sewing later on. I’m thinking the floral cotton ribbon will be used as waistband on the crinoline as well as for the trim on the corset as it will go well with the fabric it is made of.

This project is so much fun even though it got temporarily put on hiatus as I got hit with a cold >< I’m back on it though, will be bringing some updates very soon!

Started sewing again!

I finished sewing a pair of bloomers a few hours ago from some fabric I bought from FeerieDollAtelier on etsy. Have had it laying around for the past 5-6 months now? In any case, I finally got around to sewing those drawers to match the dress, also from FDA.

Not the best picture to show them off properly, but it's pretty late here so it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

After finishing up on these I thought why not sew some more or, rather, finish up on some of all of the projects waiting for me. Lead to me picking up on that wedding dress project of mine.

Having to start just about from scratch with that crinoline cage. This time around I bought the pattern so nothing can go wrong, unless I fuck up myself because of who knows what reason. Also thinking that I'll be making new undergarments as I have a different idea in mind. So really, I am starting from scratch, although not with the corset, that part I am fine with picking up where I left it.

Hope I'll be able making a bit of progress tomorrow, get some of the fabric cut out for the bag, all the bone casing, strips of fabric for ribbon, perhaps even for the petticoat and undergarments.

Still alive and well

Damn it's been forever here that I last posted anything, but no worries, life happened.

Been my plan for so long to find a suiting sculpt and body for Sandy from RotG. Found it recently! A LittleMonica Jeremy who will go on a DollFamily-H chubby baby body. Getting the body in exchange for a sewing commission, the one I'm sewing for had a DF-H Kelasi who needed a good loving home, and hey, paying with resin is just as good as paying with money.

Soon able to send the last payment on a body for the remaining floatie here and no more floaties! Can't wait to have the body home and see the owner of said body on it. Really do hope it'll fit and will work out, but should, have checked measurements twice to make sure, but you know, you always have your doubts.

Also have quite a Frankenstein project on my hands lately. Got a Luts body where the hands and feet were missing. Or, the feet where there but on one of them the ankle part was missing, so it'll get a pair from ResinSoul. Hands will be a pair of jointed hands from DikaDoll. Will have an AprilStory Spring SE residing on it once I get string and s-hooks home. Not sure of who he'll get to me in the end, but it's fine when he's all in pieces atm.
