Project Wig - Making the hard cap

Making my first ever hard cap! I’m so excited it’s ridiculous xD

Need to add another layer of glue tomorrow and then wait for it all to dry completely before I can take it off and cut to fit. Will also be fiddling around with making wefts tomorrow to have them ready for when the wig cap is ready.

Wish me luck!

Sewing Rambles

I'm mere steps away from being finished with the wedding dress, more or less. I have a wig that I need to make from scratch, don't know how that will go seen as I have never made one before. I had bought a wig cap that I hadn't once tried on his head and, I suppose, I was quit naive when I thought it would fit - surprise, it didn't. So having to rethink I settled for making a hard cap instead. Have found some tulle I can use for the purpose, now I just need to sit down and actually get to work. The wefts are already sewn together so will have to cut off the hemming and glue the ends. I really hope I can make something that's at least decent, I know I can't expect wonders when it's my first ever try, but if I take it slow I should be able to not entirely mess it up. I hope.
Still waiting on a pair of hh-feet to be able starting on a pair of shoes. Have an idea using filigree leafs and fold them to the shape of the foot, use hot-glue to put it all together. Going to decorate it with satin roses and montees, make them all glittery and much like a Cinderella kind of shoe.
Also waiting on some soft tulle for the veil, going to decorate it with little glittery rhinestones, perhaps a few roses here and there and some of that leaf trim I've got. Not entirely sure of all this, but I will figure it out in time.

This project kind of wont be finished there, have a spouse to dress afterwards. Need him to look just as spiffy! Going to make him an entire outfit as well; tailcoat, waistcoat, shirt, trousers, and a nice cravat. Had thought of a bow tie, but it just seemed, off? Plus if I go for something 1860s inspired men didn't wear bow ties before the 1880s, so there was that. Will be making little cuff links and studs for the shirt, going to be using montees and some headpins used for jewellery making to make these tiny things.
The tailcoat and waistcoat I will see to use what is left of the fabric used for the dress. I should have enough, I hope. I will find out once I get all the patterns properly fitted and cut out to lay down. I will make it happen somehow! Both will be lined, not sure of which colour yet. Have bought home some satin in both navy blue, pale blue and cream white, then I can decide when the time comes, and will have some for the cravat as well.
Have the nicest cotton blend fabric for the trousers with some stripes going down it in dark grey and a dark blue, will match the jacket and waistcoat very nicely.
So far the only thing I've gotten done on this new project is finding all the patterns I need and cutting them out. Will have to do some revisions here and there, but having the base pattern makes everything easy-peasy.

Before even starting on any of all this I have a commission I need to finish sewing, already got the design down. Going to go with just about same design as I did with a dress I finished back in early spring, so already have patterns for the skirt and found that another pattern I have I can use for the top piece as it will fit the measurements I've been given. All I need done is getting the pieces cut out, sewn together, decorate it all nicely and have it packaged and shipped off to the owner so that I can get my lovely little DF-H Kalesi home as payment!
